Matthew specialises in the provision of external audit services to a broad range of clients, including large and small proprietary companies, not‑for‑profit organisations, and national umbrella bodies. He has been responsible for the audits of a number of significant organisations, including Ageing Australia, the Australian Pharmacy Council, eWater Limited, Housing Industry Association Limited, YMCA Canberra Region, and Woden Community Service.

Matthew has led complex audit engagements across a variety of regulatory environments, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory frameworks while delivering insights to strengthen governance, risk management, and financial reporting outcomes. His experience includes advising on accounting standards, regulatory compliance, and organisational risk matters for entities operating in complex and highly regulated environments.

In addition to his audit and assurance work, Matthew has a strong interest in sustainability and ESG reporting. He has been actively involved in Nexia Australia’s Sustainability and ESG group since its inception and brings his assurance experience to this evolving area, particularly in relation to reporting frameworks, governance, systems and controls, and the quality and reliability of reported information. Matthew has undertaken targeted professional development in climate-related disclosures and carbon accounting, complementing his existing audit and financial reporting expertise.
